Revisiting
the cleaning and hygiene management system from a factory environment perspective
Refurbishment of factory environment through air conditioning and insulation works
At Takasago, we place great importance on not relying solely on human vigilance and operational rules for cleaning and hygiene management. Consequently, during this facility refurbishment, we have re-evaluated the environments themselves, such as factories and warehouses.
Specifically, we have enhanced the air conditioning and insulation performance throughout the warehouse, establishing a stable working environment with consistent temperature and humidity levels. This temperature and humidity stability has significantly improved working conditions, while also facilitating daily tidying and cleaning tasks. Consequently, we have achieved an environment where cleaning and hygiene management can be maintained and sustained without undue strain.
Rather than adding specialised equipment or unique rules, Takasago’s approach is to establish a fundamental environment where prescribed cleaning and hygiene management can be carried out as a matter of course. Such environmental improvements not only enhance workability and the working environment but also form the foundation supporting quality through the stabilisation of cleaning and hygiene management.

1. Hair implantation processing
We perform bristle attachment processing for HACCP-compliant products and general-purpose items suitable for household use. As the process
is semi-automated, operators constantly monitor production whilst performing checks.
In fiscal year 2024, we introduced two state-of-the-art bristle attachment machines, enabling us to achieve even higher quality bristle attachment processing.

2. Shearing processing
We perform hair trimming on products that have undergone the ‘hair-planting process’. This
primarily involves trimming products characterised by curved sections, a process that cannot be achieved by automated machinery.

3. Shearing processing
The trimming of products following the ‘hair-planting process’ is carried out. As this is a manual
trimming machine, both speed and meticulousness are essential to ensure the hair is neatly trimmed.

4. Twisting processing and automatic shearing
We automate the ‘twisting’ and ‘automatic trimming’ processes for scouring pads and pipe brushes primarily intended for HACCP-compliant products. We have introduced the latest European-made equipment, of which only a few units exist within Japan
.

5. Shearing processing
The trimming of products following the “hair implantation process” is carried out. As this is performed by automated machinery, production is both precise and rapid.

6. Assembly and machining
This process primarily involves joining the brush head to the handle. Experienced
staff carry out each step by hand, alongside other tasks such as bagging and size modifications for custom orders.

7. Individually wrapped
This process involves packaging items for customers who request individual wrapping. While air-blowing
is also performed during the hair-planting and trimming stages, we additionally conduct packaging checks to ensure no foreign matter is present.

8. Final Inspection and Packaging
Primary inspections are conducted during the hair implantation and trimming processes, but a final visual inspection is also performed prior to packaging to check for foreign objects and other issues. Only items
found to be problem-free are packaged and delivered to our customers.
